What to Know Before Your First Microblading Touch-Up

The 6-week touch-up is as important as the initial session. Here's what to expect and why it matters.

Every microblading journey at BonBrow is planned around a 6–8 week touch-up. It's not optional — it's essential.

Why You Need a Touch-Up

Microblading typically retains 70–80% of pigment on the first pass. Some strokes fade more than others. The touch-up evens everything out.

What Happens at the Touch-Up

  • Assessment: Soza evaluates how your skin healed and which areas need more pigment
  • Re-map: If the shape needs minor adjustments, we mark them
  • Work: Fill in any gaps, deepen pale strokes, adjust color if needed
  • Duration: 1–1.5 hours (shorter than initial session)
  • Numbing: Same as initial session — heavy topical

What Not to Expect

The touch-up is not a "redo." We're not repeating everything — just refining.

How to Prep

Same as initial session: - No blood thinners (check with doctor) - No caffeine/alcohol day of - No active skincare on brows for 7 days - Come with brows clean and makeup-free

Healing

Same process as initial healing, but typically: - Less intense - Shorter scabbing phase - Faster final result (often visible at week 3)

After Your 6-Week Touch-Up

  • Your brows are now "done" — no more sessions needed until 12–18 months
  • Schedule your first refresh ~12 months out
  • Normal aftercare continues: SPF, no retinol on brows, gentle skincare

If You Miss the 6-Week Touch-Up

Past 8 weeks, healed skin needs more work and the touch-up may be priced as its own session. Don't skip it — budget the time now.

Text us a week before your touch-up appointment if you need to adjust — most clients need it right at 6–8 weeks.
