Lip blush is one of the most requested PMU services — and for good reason. Here's the full breakdown.

What Is Lip Blush?

Lip blush is a semi-permanent cosmetic tattoo that deposits soft pigment throughout the lips. The result: a natural, stained-from-within color, defined borders, and subtle fullness.

Who Is It For?

Lip blush is ideal if you: - Have pale or undefined lips - Struggle with asymmetry or irregular borders - Have hyperpigmentation that dulls your natural color - Want to look put-together without lipstick - Are tired of reapplying lip color all day

The Session

  • Duration: 2.5–3.5 hours
  • Numbing: Heavy topical numbing before and during
  • Pain level: 2–4 out of 10 (less than microblading)
  • Swelling: 2–3 days of mild puffiness post-session

How It Heals

  • Day 1–3: Dark and bold
  • Day 4–7: Scabbing/flaking
  • Day 8–14: Ghost phase — color fades dramatically
  • Day 21+: True color emerges
  • Week 6: Touch-up session to perfect result

Longevity

Lip blush lasts 2–5 years. Retention varies by: - How much you smoke/drink - Sun exposure (SPF on lips matters!) - Heavy exfoliation - Lifestyle factors

What About Cold Sores?

If you've ever had a cold sore, you'll need an antiviral prescription before the procedure. The stress of the tattoo can trigger an outbreak. Talk to your doctor about Valtrex or similar a week before.

Lip Blush + Fillers?

Yes — but space them out. Get lip blush at least 6 weeks before or after filler. Trying to do both close together leads to pigment migration.
